How the consultation visit works

1. Step 1: mapping your home and preferences

   We assess your living space, insulation levels and heating requirements: primary or secondary heating, daily or weekend use, with or without programming. This determines the required output and specification. Feel free to have your latest energy bill ready, as it provides great insight into your current consumption.

2. Step 2: tailored output calculation

   Using the rule of thumb of 1 kilowatt per 8 to 10 square metres for moderate insulation, and 1 per 15 to 20 for good insulation, we calculate the exact heat output required. Buying a stove that is too large is mistake number 1: such a stove smothers constantly, gets dirty faster and consumes more fuel.

3. Step 3: determining location and flue route

   We find the spot where heat distributes effectively through the house, pellets are easily accessible and the flue runs logically outwards: through an existing chimney, along the facade or through the roof. We also factor in the air supply and power socket placement.

4. Step 4: comparing models and quote

   You receive a side-by-side comparison of 2 to 3 suitable models, with an honest comparison of their noise levels, hopper capacities and controls. The detailed quote follows within 48 hours, broken down by appliance, flue and installation, enabling a true comparison.

What do we examine during the visit?

The area and ceiling height of the room, insulation and glazing, the condition of any existing chimney, options for fresh air intake, space for pellet storage and walking paths through the room. Every recommendation we make stems from that single tour of your home, from heating capacity to flue routing. Freestanding, inset or linked to central heating?

A classic freestanding stove heats a single living space quickly and visibly. An inset model fits flush into a wall or fireplace, fitted via the inset installation service. If you want to heat the entire house, we look into a central heating connected appliance or a dedicated pellet boiler. The consultation visit reveals which of these 3 paths fits your house and budget best.

How much does the consultation visit cost?

Nothing: the visit is free and non-binding throughout our entire service region, including the capacity calculation and the quote. We believe that good advice sells itself, and you are welcome to compare our proposal with others. How often do I refill pellets? A hopper capacity of 25 to 35 kilograms provides 1 to 3 days of heating without fuss, depending on the weather and your settings. Can you hear the stove? Modern appliances run below 40 decibels in night mode, quieter than a refrigerator, and we let you hear that on site.

What happens during a power outage? The stove shuts down safely and restarts automatically afterwards. What about dust? Using quality pellets with the ENplus A1 certification alongside a quick weekly vacuum with an ash cleaner keeps the stove clean. Every concern you have gets an honest answer during the visit, including questions from other family members.

If you are building or renovating, we are happy to visit during the planning phase: we can decide on the flue route, fresh air intake and stove position together before the walls are closed up.
