Pellets are pressed, stacked, shrink-wrapped and transported per pallet. How much is 975 kg in practice?

Using roughly one bag per heating day, 65 bags will last through most of a standard winter. If you heat exclusively with pellets in a well insulated home, one pallet is often sufficient. Rosina has been manufacturing doors and wooden profiles since 1989 in Rio dos Cedros, Santa Catarina, Brazil, right at the heart of the region's largest pinus reforestation area. Processing all that wood generates pure wood shavings every day, which are pressed into pellets in their own facility. No extra trees are cut down for these pellets: it uses wood that was already there and would otherwise be waste.

Production is fully automated without chemical additives, starch or binding agents. The pellets are held together purely by the natural lignin in the wood. What you pour into your stove is nothing but compressed softwood.

Delivery and unloading

The pallet arrives as a single unit weighing nearly a ton. Please ensure a paved, accessible drop-off location as close as possible to your storage spot. Gravel driveways or soft ground are difficult for pallet jacks. If you prefer to move the bags gradually, keep the pallet covered outdoors and unload it in stages.

Keep dry, even over summer

Pellets are compressed wood and naturally absorb moisture. Store them indoors, off the floor and away from damp walls. A pallet stored in a dry garage during summer will perform perfectly in November. A pallet left outside under a tarp often will not, as condensation causes as much damage as rain. Swollen or soft bags yield less heat and create more ash.
