Agricola Pellets by the half pallet: 33 bags of 15 kg

A half pallet is 33 bags of 15 kg, 495 kg in total. It is the middle option: you buy by the pallet and pay less per bag than someone buying loose, without having to fit a full pallet of nearly a tonne. Agricola Pellets are pressed from 100% softwood, without additives or bark, and are ENplus A1 certified.

Who is a half pallet for?

For people who use the stove alongside another heat source rather than heating entirely on pellets, for a flat or a smaller house, and for anyone whose storeroom or garage cannot take a full pallet or whose doorway is too narrow. People buying by the pallet for the first time often start with a half as well: you see how far it gets you before committing to a full season.

How far do 33 bags go?

At roughly one bag per burning day, a half pallet works out at a good month of continuous heating in the depth of winter. If you only light the stove in the evening, you will easily stretch it to two or three months. In the shoulder season, when the stove only takes the edge off, a half pallet often covers the whole autumn.

A half pallet represents roughly 2,300 to 2,500 kWh of heat, depending on the calorific value of the pellet and the efficiency of your stove. That is a useful yardstick if you want to compare the cost of pellets against gas or electricity.

How much space do you need?

A half pallet sits on a standard euro pallet of 80 by 120 cm and stands about a metre high. Allow a little over one square metre of floor space, plus room to walk around it. Spreading the bags across a rack distributes the weight better and keeps the walkway clear. Watch the load capacity of an attic floor: 495 kg in one spot is a lot.

Delivery and placement

A half pallet weighs close to half a tonne and is delivered on a pallet. Provide a level, accessible spot where the delivery can be set down, and enough room to carry the bags inside afterwards. If the pallet stays outside, cover it and keep it off the ground. The film around a pallet is transport packaging, not months of rain protection.

Half pallet, single bag or full pallet?

If you only need a few bags, buy them loose as a Agricola Pellets 15 kg bag. If you burn through a full season and have the space, the Agricola Pellets full pallet with 65 bags is cheaper still per bag. If you are unsure about space, measure your doorway first, not your storeroom. Most people who fall back on a half pallet do so because of a narrow door, not a small room.

Why Agricola Pellets

Across 33 bags the ash content is what counts. Every percent of ash you do not burn is an ash pan you do not have to empty and a heat exchanger that does not clog. Agricola Pellets are pressed from 100% softwood, without additives or bark, and are ENplus A1 certified. You notice it in the maintenance: less cleaning, and glass that stays clear longer.

ENplus A1 is not a marketing term but an audited standard: it caps the ash content, the moisture, the density and the amount of fines, and it obliges the producer to keep the product traceable. For you it is the simplest guarantee that what you pour into the stove is really what the bag claims.
